      Dean Women's Basketball Qualifies for District Tournament

      On Saturday February 28, 2015 at Dean's Pieri Gymnasium, the Dean College Women’s Basketball team captured its second consecutive Region XXI Championship title with a 65-58 win over Orange County Community College.  The Bulldogs (16-6) now travel to the County College of Morris March 7-8 to participate in the District Tournament.  The two finalists in the District Tournament qualify to compete in the NJCAA Division II National Championship, held on March 17-21 at Johnson County Community College. 

      In the first round of the District Tournament, Dean will be matched up with the number one seed, Union County Community College (25-4), who defeated Lackawanna College this past Saturday in their Region final. Lackawanna (22-4) will face Monroe College (24-1) in the second semifinal on Saturday.

      Dean Men's Basketball To Host Region XXI Championship, March 1, 2015

      The Dean College men's basketball team, fresh off a 72-63 win over Massasoit Community College Thursday night, have earned the right to host the Region XXI Division II championship game.

      On Sunday, March 1st at 3:00pm, the Bulldogs (20-2), will face their regional rival, the Community College of Rhode Island (14-13), at Dean's home site, Pieri Gymnasium.  The winner will advance to the Northeast District title game, held in upstate New York.

      With the win on Thursday, Dean established a new school record for consecutive victories at fifteen and their current streak moved them up to 16th in the latest NJCAA national poll.  Dean's last loss came on November 20th at the Community College of Rhode Island.  The two teams split their two games this season, with CCRI winning their November contest, 88-79, and the Bulldogs won the second semester game at home, 77-63.

      Sunday's game will be part of a basketball doubleheader at the college, as they are also hosting the Women's Division II Regional tournament title game on Sunday at 1:00pm.

      Dean College Presents Lysistrata, February 25 - March 1, 2015

      The School of the Arts at Dean College will perform Lysistrata beginning Wednesday, February 25, 2015 through Sunday, March 1, 2015.

      Lysistrata tells a story about how the women of Greece attempt to force an end to an unwinnable war through the withholding of their feminine charms from their warlike husbands and lovers. The women are ultimately successful in ending the war at the climax of this hilarious and thought-provoking classic. You won’t want to miss our students perform this stunning tale!

      The Dean College production of Lysistrata will take place in the Campus Main Stage at Dean College Wednesday – Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with matinee performances at 2:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.  Tickets are $5/$10/$20 and can be purchased online.  WARNING: This play contains language and situations to which some audience members may object and is not considered suitable for younger audiences.       Dean College to Host Women's Basketball Region XXI Tournament, February 28 - March 1, 2015

      Franklin, MA (February 24, 2014)  – The Dean College Women’s Basketball team will host the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Region XXI Division II Tournament this weekend, February 28-March 1, at Pieri Gymnasium, 60 School Street, Franklin. 

      Dean, the second seed of the tournament with a current record of 14-5, earned the right to host the tournament by defeating Region XXI rival, the Community College of Rhode Island in both contests this past winter. The Bulldogs face the number three seed, Orange County Community College of Middletown, New York, in the second semi-final on Saturday, with a game time of 2:00 p.m.  The top seed, Monroe College (21-8) of New Rochelle, New York, will play in the first semi of the day at 12 noon against the Community College of Rhode Island (7-17), the number four seed.  The two winners on Saturday will meet in the championship game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

      The two teams that meet in the championship game will both advance to the District Tournament on March 7-8, held in Region 19 (New Jersey).  The District Champion would then advance to the NJCAA National Tournament, held at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas, on March 17-21.

      Dean Hosts Saturday with Dean, February 28, 2015

      Dean College hosts Saturday with Dean events to familiarize students with campus.

      Come to Dean College on Saturday, February 28, 2015 for Saturday with Dean, which is an information session and tour of campus designed to help students better understand the Dean Difference.

      The information session begins at 10:00am and is followed by a tour of campus, allowing you plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your Saturday. Representatives from the Office of Admissions staff will be on hand to answer all of your questions.
