      Dean College to Host Free Women in Negotiation Professional Development Session


      Dean College to Host Free Women in Negotiation Professional Development Session

      Dean College will be hosting a session titled Women in Negotiation. The event will occur on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 6:30 PM.

      Jennifer LampiThe session is being conducted by Jennifer Lampi, a specialist in negotiation techniques at Accenture who has advised teams, coached female executives and trained people on how to practice and utilize different negotiation techniques.  In addition, Ms. Lampi has worked closely with Professor Linda Babcock, author of Women Don’t Ask, researching the impacts of gender on negotiation.

      “Dean College is really looking forward to this event,” says Gregg Chalk, Assistant Vice President of Marketing at Dean College. “Negotiation is such a unique and important skill and this is not restricted to women only.  It is open to, and of interest to, everyone and provides an outstanding professional and personal development opportunity for all. “

      The training will take place in the Dean College Campus Center. Attendees are asked to park in the Campus Center parking lot, at 109 West Central Street/Route 140.

      January Move-In Information from Office of Residence Life


      January Move-In Information from Office of Residence Life

      New Student Check-In
      Monday, January 20th, 9am - 11am
      - Check-in for new students is scheduled from 9am-10am in the Campus Center. Students will need to be cleared prior to moving into their assigned residence halls or participating in orientation. Orientation check-in begins at 11:15am in the Campus Center.

      Returning Resident Student Check-In
      Monday, January 20th, 1pm - 4pm
      -Returning resident students who have not been cleared for direct check-In must go to the Campus Center to check-in. Once the student is cleared for check in they will receive their key from the Office of Residence Life in the Campus Center.
      -Returning resident students who have been cleared for direct check-in may pick up their keys at the designated locations based on their residence hall assignments.

      Early Arrival Groups
      There is a small number of students allowed to arrive early due to involvement in an approved Dean College activity. These students are contacted by a member of the staff to confirm they are permitted to arrive prior to official opening of the College. All students participating in these activities must be cleared in order to move in or participate with the group they are involved in. Below are the approved activities allowed to move in early for January 2014, as well as contact information for the person responsible for the group:

      Both Men's and Women's Basketball Teams Ranked in NJCAA Polls



      With the fall semester wrapping up, the men’s and women’s basketball teams head in to a much deserved break after a stellar beginning to the season. The first half saw the men (12-0) ranked at number 2 in the NJCAA polls, and the women (9-1) ranked at 17 in the polls.

      Janaysia James – 16.8 points per game, 9.3 rebounds per game
      Shaine Rowley – 19 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game
      Vanessa Sylvain – 15.7 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, 6.8 assists per game, 5.8 steals per game
      Victoria Nguyen – 13.4 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, 6.2 assists per game

      Jamal Reuben – 13.2 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game
      Joe Clarke – 14.1 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game
      Charles Correa – 15.9 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per gane, 4 assists per game, 3 steals per game

      The number 2 ranking is the highest for men’s basketball in Dean College history.

      Accenture to Offer Intensive For-Credit Course on Negotiation over Winter Break

      Accenture LogoDean College is thrilled to welcome the Accenture Global Negotiation Skills Center team back to lead students in a 3 credit course on negotiation skills over winter break. The course has been brought back for a third time to the Dean College campus due to its past popularity.
