Each summer, Dean College hosts its New Student Orientation
(NSO) program that is designed to prepare enrolled students for a successful
introduction to college.
This program is a day and a half long (including an
overnight stay in one of the dormitories) and allows students and their
families to sample the many different aspects of Dean. NSO not only offers
informative workshops and presentations but it also offers fun activities for
students and parents alike.
Dean will be hosting NSO I from Monday, June 23 to Tuesday,
June 24, NSO II from Thursday, June 26 to Friday, June 27, and NSO III from
Thursday, July 10 to Friday, July 11.
The goal of this program is to familiarize students and
their families with the academic support, residence life programs and
technology services available on campus. You will also have fun, meet faculty
and staff, and make friends with other Dean students!

Dr. Linda Ragosta recently left Dean College after 9
years of service.
As Vice President of Academic Affairs and Planning, Linda
has been an instrumental member of the Senior Management team at Dean College
since 2005. For the past 9 years, Linda has led the college in successfully
implementing its mission. The dedication that she has shown to Dean exemplifies
the Dean Difference and the care that each individual member of the Dean
community shows to bettering the community as a whole.

College Athletic Director John Jackson has been awarded the 2013-2014 Under
Armour Athletic Director of the Year Award (ADOY) for the Junior/Community
College division. It is the third time that John has been selected to receive

Diletta “Dee” Masiello as Dean of the School of Continuing Studies. With over
15 years of increasing responsibility in higher education, Masiello will focus her
new position on building programs for adult students.

the area,” said Masiello. “Providing Dean students with more options through
the addition of new programs and flexible course delivery is very exiting!

Affairs at Northeastern University, where she provided leadership, strategic
recruitment, enrollment management, and policy development. During her tenure,
Masiello helped launch the first-ever online MBA program at Northeastern
University. Under her leadership the program has grown from an original
entering class of 18 students in November of 2006 to nearly 1400 students
today. “People are now recognizing the value of the online delivery mode,” said
Masiello. “To provide flexibility to those who might not be able to attend
classes is where online education is valuable.”
