around the world will be arriving on campus to kick off the 2014-15 academic
Friday marks the beginning of International
Student Orientation (ISO) and Arch Orientation. ISO offers an opportunity
for international students to become acquainted with Dean and the surrounding
areas and Arch Orientation allows those
participating in the Arch program to become better acquainted with others in
On Monday, September 1, the remaining new and returning
students will move in and/or check-in to Dean College. Times and locations for
check-in vary depending on a variety of factors, so be sure to check out the Move-In Day web page
for all information. If you are moving in to a residence hall for the first
time, you will also find some tips on what to bring and what not to bring to
Beginning Tuesday, October 14, this 30-day social media challenge calls for original photo submissions from the Dean College community. The subjects of the photos range from selfies and close up shots to today's weather and Dean Hall.
Marketing will give away prizes (Dunkin Donuts gift cards, Boomer's Bucks and Dean Wear) on random days throughout the challenge to the best photo submission of the day. At the end of the challenge, those that submitted most frequently will be entered to win an iPad Mini!

The schedule for the 2014 Leadership in Action Series has been announced and this year features a strong and diverse group of speakers!
The Leadership in Action Series features multiple presentations throughout each semester, offering students an exclusive opportunity to hear and interact with regional business leaders. They were recently featured on New York television for distribution of their bags to young students in New York City.

Athletic Director honored as the Dean Difference Maker at the New
England Revolution game at Gillette Stadium.
Dean College Athletic Director and
Coach John Jackson was honored as the Dean Difference Maker at Saturday's
New England Revolution game at Gillette Stadium!
Serving as Dean College’s Athletic
Director for the past 27 years, John was recognized as the 2013-2014 Under
Armour Regional Junior College Athletic Director of the Year. This is the 3rd
time that he has won this honor. In addition, John also served as the Dean
College women’s softball coach, where he was a three-time winner of the New
England Junior College Softball Coach of the Year award. The team's most recent
championship was clinched in 2014.
John has won numerous other awards,
including induction into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame and the NJCAA
Soccer Hall of Fame.
the New England Revolution game against Columbus Crew on Saturday at 7:30pm to
see John Jackson receive this honor. Congratulations John!

On Sunday, October 5th, the Harvest Festival will
take over downtown Franklin!
Organized by the Franklin Downtown Partnership, this
festival includes over 100 crafters and vendors, live entertainment, music,
museum tours and more! This event runs from 11am to 4pm, rain or shine, and
Dean College will be taking part in the fun. Come check us out at our booth!

Dean College Fall Athletics participated in five games during the weekend of September 26th, coming out on top in a majority of the matches.
Dean College football traveled all the way to Louisburg, NC to take on Louisburg College in a live-streamed event. The Bulldogs trounced the Canes, shutting them out 21-0. Dean got on the scoreboard early in the game with a 10-yard touchdown
run. Later in the quarter it was a 14-yard touchdown pass that put
them ahead 14-0. Just before the half ended it was a 47-yard pass that
finished out the scoring for the day. At the end of the first half of play, the score was 21-0 and it remained that way throughout the 2nd half as neither team could come up with a big scoring play. The Bulldogs will play ASA in Brooklyn, NY on October 4 at noon.
The Men's and Women's Soccer teams also took on some fierce
competition this weekend. On Saturday, the men played Holyoke, scoring 4 goals
in the first half of the game and ending the game with an impressive 6-0 shutout.
The Bulldogs also took on Mercer County Community College at Longley Field on
Sunday, September 28, losing the tough match 2-1 in overtime.
Women’s Soccer took on Mercer County on Saturday
and Sussex County on Sunday. The Lady Bulldogs lost their tough game against
Mercer County 3-0 and won their game vs. Sussex County, 1-0.
All in all, it was a solid weekend for Dean
