Now that I'm accepted, what should I do next?

Once you've made your decision to come to Dean, you should return the forms in the acceptance packet you received with your acceptance letter. These forms include medical information and history, records for immunization, and other health-related matters. You also received forms for New Student Orientation or NSO.

What is NSO? Should I go?

NSO is New Student Orientation – a dynamic program for students and their families designed to prepare you for your arrival here at Dean. This is a one-to two-day program that allows you and your family to sample many aspects of the College. You'll meet faculty, staff and connect with other Dean students. You will receive information about NSO once you've paid your enrollment deposit.

Can family members attend?

Family members are encouraged to attend NSO. There is a separate family schedule designed to answer questions and meet the needs of Dean family members.

How do I find out where I'll live on campus?

Once you've paid your enrollment deposit, you will receive housing information and request forms.

What if I need help paying for college?

Dean has a number of scholarships, grants and financial aid programs. All Dean students are strongly encouraged to apply for federal aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  You may also contact the Financial Aid Office for assistance in identifying additional scholarships and loans by calling 508-541-1518.  Combining your Dean grant, Federal Student Aid, external scholarships and educational loans can help most families significantly reduce their cost of attending Dean.  Families attending NSO will also have the opportunity for one-on-one meetings with financial aid staff members to help you work through the process and identify resources that are appropriate for you!

I'm applying to Dean's Dance Program. Do I need to audition?

Yes. Please contact the School of Dance to arrange for your audition.

Are there different meal plans?

Yes. You can select from a number of meal plans offered through Dining Services.

I'll be a commuter student. Where will I park?

Commuter students are issued a parking decal for designated commuter lots.

What if I have more questions?

You can contact the Office of Student Development at 508-541-1552; or the Center for Student Administrative Services at 508-541-1518.
