Today, Friday, August 29, marks the beginning of International
Student Orientation (ISO) and Arch Orientation.
International students from 26 countries around the world
arrived on campus yesterday afternoon to meet their student leaders, move in to
their dorms, have dinner and unwind. Over the next few days, international
students will have the opportunity to learn more about Dean and the Franklin
community by visiting a local bank, setting up telephone and internet services,
shopping for necessities and enjoying evening activities with their new
classmates. In general, ISO offers an opportunity for international students to
become acquainted with Dean and the surrounding areas.
Additionally, students from the Arch program also arrive on
campus today and begin their orientation! Arch
Orientation allows those participating in the Arch program to become better
acquainted with others in the program and to learn more about the program
itself. Over the next few days, students will sit through sessions such as Linking
Your Academic and Campus Life, The Journey from High School to College and
Writing Your Success Plan. Students will also participate in fun off-campus
adventures and team-building exercises.

On Wednesday, August 8, 2014 President, Dr. Paula Rooney, Vice President of Enrollment Services and Marketing, John Marcus, Professor of Business and Director of the Dean Leadership Institute, Dr. Gerald Shaw, and Dean College Board of Trustee, Theresa M. Robbins visited Hong Kong for the Dean College Hong Kong Dinner in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Dean with alumni, current and incoming students. The dinner was hosted by Dr. Rooney and Director of Litz USA Student Service, Kitty Wu.
