Leaders in Business The School of Business staff at Dean College have been hard at work getting ready to provide our students with a strong variety of speakers for this upcoming semester. Though the date and speaker have not been announced yet, we promise you’re not going to want to miss our 2014 Dean Leadership Institute Executive Lecture – this year’s speaker is going to blow you away. Joining us this semester for Leadership in Action will be Dean Alums in the news business talking about their careers, including covering the Boston Marathon tragedy, the COO who handles security for all of the Kraft Group companies, and finally the Director of Operations for the Tiger Woods Foundation.
A look back at last years executive lecture:
Hoopin’ it up The men (12-0) and women (9-1) of Dean basketball return in mid-January and hope to bring the same intensity and success in the second half as they did in the first. The men ended the first half ranking second in the NJCAA polls, while the women were ranked number 17. It’ll be the women first on January 19th at home versus Orange County Community College (7-3), and the men will follow that on January 21st traveling to UConn at Avery Point (6-5).
Commencement! That’s right, before you know it; it’ll be that time of year. Commencement is a bittersweet time where we say goodbye to our graduating class as they head off to chase their dreams and achieve their goals. Dean’s 148th Commencement will be on Saturday, May 10, 2014.
Leadership Tuesdays The folks in the Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development are excited to bring back the popular Leadership Tuesdays, free workshops open to all students which cover a wide range of topics in leadership. This semester, the topics were decided by the students themselves and are sure to be a huge hit. Examples of topics covered will be Team Building, Stress Management, Money Management, Work/Life Balance, Social Media, and more. Keep your eyes open for the schedule for Leadership Tuesdays.
