Dean College Profiled in the Boston Globe
12/09/2008
Dean College was recently profiled in the Boston Sunday Globe (12/8/08) as a school where many students receive a second chance at acquiring the study skills, education and confidence required to transfer to other four-year colleges and universities. The article portrayed the fact that Dean is “unique” in its approach to educating students by providing mentoring and support not typically found at other colleges – something we are all proud to call “The Dean Difference.”

Just as Dean is unique, we understand that each student is unique, and that the backgrounds of each student, and their reasons for attending Dean College cannot be singularly classified.

The article did not reflect every aspect of Dean – our internationally-respected dance program, and our 18-month-old major in Arts and Entertainment Management, both of which are four year degree granting programs, or our unique relationship with Suffolk University, but it did favorably portray the College as a special place – one that we can all be proud of, one that nurtures creativity and individuality, and that we each choose to be here for our own unique reasons. This is the Dean Difference everyone works so hard to achieve.

I am proud of every student, dedicated faculty member, and passionate staff member at Dean and see the hard work and commitment you make to your studies and to the Dean Community every day. Our 143 year history continues to provide recognition of the value of a Dean degree and the importance of our alumni to our past and to the future of Dean College.

President Rooney
