Dean, The School of the Arts. Founder/Former Producing Artistic Director of the Mint Theater in NYC where he produced and/or directed over 50 plays, many of them new works. Direction includes: Steppenwolf Theater, (Uncle Bob w/Austin Pendleton); Lost Tribe Theater (A Creature Craving); Mint Theater (Thornwood by Tony Howarth w/ Rodney Scott Hudson, Jeremy Rudge w/Becky Ann Baker & Austin Pendleton; Contemporary American Theater Festival (Baby Dance), Independent Theater (Last Yankee by Arthur Miller); Edinburgh Festival (The Laramie Project); Cleveland Play House (The New Girl); Abingdon Theater (Another Vermeer by Bruce Robinson and Love Drunk by Romulus Linney. He has performed at the New York Shakespeare Festival, Women’s Theater Project, Westbeth Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, Champlain Shakespeare Festival, and Syracuse Stage and received the National Endowed Chair of Excellence in the Arts, The Kennedy Center Directing Fellowship and Massachusetts State Senate Commendation for Service in the Arts. He has served as the Executive Officer of the Graduate & Undergraduate Department of Theatre & Dance at Case Western Reserve University, Chair of The Performing Arts Department at The National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology and on the faculty of Princeton University, Fitchburg State College, American University, SUNY/Fredonia and University of Vermont. He is the Immediate Past Chair of The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for Region 1, New England.
Jim Beauregard - Assistant Professor of Theatre and Dance and Technical Director of the Center for the Performing Arts at Dean College. Along with Dr. Myron Schmidt of Dean College, Jim has served as a Co-Vice Chair for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Region I. At Dean he has directed numerous productions, including Pirates of Penzance, The Crucible, The Three Musketeers, Much Ado About Nothing, Victims of Paradise, Scapino!, My Father Never Prepared Me For This, and The Country Wife. Jim is founder and director of Dean College Summer Outdoor Theatre. He is a specialist in stage combat. He has served as the Associate Artistic Director and a principal performer at The Medieval Manor, Boston’s longest running show.
Jeff Claassen-
Craig Handel - Mr. Handel has been working professionally as an actor, playwright, director, teacher, and combat choreographer since 1978. He has appeared on the NBC daytime drama The Doctors and on Showtime’s Original Series Brotherhood. He has written plays produced Off-Off Broadway at The Westbeth Theatre Center, Fools Without Fear, and The Cumberland Company. Since 1999 he has been the principle fight choreographer for Providence’s Tony Award winning theatre Trinity Repertory Company. At Trinity Rep Craig has choreographed fights for Othello, Peter Pan, The Henriad, Hamlet, Richard III, West Side Story, and Cyrano de Bergerac among others. He recently staged the Abduction Ballet for Amanda Dehnert’s reimagining of The Fantasticks at Longwharf Theatre in New Haven and restaged it for Arena Stage in Washington D.C. He choreographed the fights for Commonwealth Shakespeare’s highly acclaimed production of Hamlet, starring Burn Notice lead actor Jeffrey Donovan as Hamlet and choreographed Brian Dennehy in Trinity Rep’s production of Pound on Demand. He was Kathleen Turner's fight coach for the film Jewel of the Nile and served as fight captain for Kiss's music video All Hell's Breakin' Loose. He teaches Stage Combat all over New England including Brown University, University of Rhode Island, and Salve Regina University. He has been honored by The Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Festival for his fight choreography in Salve Regina University's production of Hamlet and as a playwright for his original play Public Speech, Private Thought,.Rob Goldman-Rob Goldman (Musical Director) - Rob has been a professional musician for the past 20 years and is an extremely active performer, educator,composer/arranger, and musical director with over two hundred and fifty productions to his credit. He is the co - owner and resident musical director of the Orpheum Theater in Foxboro. He holds a bachelor of music degree in bass performance and music education from the Berklee College of Music. As a performer, Rob has performed in almost all styles of music throughout the New England area as well as other parts of the country on bass, piano, vocals and guitar. He has performed with many of the area’s top bands as well as his own solo work.
As an educator, Rob has taught and directed at Dean, Emerson and Bridgewater State College as well as in the Randolph public school music program for over ten years. He was the director/arranger for the award-winning Randolph High School show choir from 1995-2000, which received top honors in competitions in New York City, Washington D.C. and Disney World. Over the years, Rob has received several awards for outstanding musical direction and has served as a clinician for the New England Theater Conference. From 2000-2006 Rob has been a master vocal teacher and accompanist at the Britney Spears Camp of the Performing Arts. This past summer he was the lead vocal teacher, accompanist and musical director at the first-ever American Idol performing arts camp in which he worked with many celebrities and former “Idols” as well as up and coming “Idols” from all around the United States.

Lisa Granata-
holds Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in General Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She has a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a year’s study in Florence Italy at Studio Arts Center International. Lisa has been teaching a variety of Studio Art classes at the Attleboro Museum School since 1993 and teaching the art history class titled Introduction to Visual Arts at Dean College since 2002. Her exhibitions include galleries and museums on the east coast in the mid west and in Italy. Lisa Guiffre-Currently, Chief Operating Officer at the Boston Center for the Arts, a $2.3 million organization, Ms. Giuffre is responsible for overseeing all areas of operations and administration, financial management and real estate development. Prior, Ms. Giuffre served as a consultant to several non profit organizations in the areas of strategic planning, financial management, program development, development including annual fund, special events and individual giving, board development, and other organizational issues. As Executive Director of the Orpheum Foxborough, a $1.2 million organization, Lisa Giuffre oversaw strategic planning, fiscal management, programming, marketing, fundraising, and board development for a leading cultural institution in Southeastern Massachusetts. Ms. Giuffre was the guiding force behind conceiving and launching The Orpheum Performing Arts Academy which provided instruction in acting, improvisation, playwriting, audition skills and technical stagecraft for youth and adults and The Garland Project, a theater-based educational program, developed and implemented in collaboration with the Hockomock YMCA in North Attleboro and the Foxborough Senior Center, which targeted at-risk youth and seniors in the community. Previously, she served as Managing Director for The Theater Offensive, a widely acclaimed presenter of cutting edge theater, where her accomplishments included supporting and managing a 40% increase in revenues over two years. She also launched and managed a financial service corporation, which provided accounting, bookkeeping, financial management and consulting services to clients ranging from business start-ups to governmental agencies. Having produced or presented over 300 performing arts events and programs over the years, Giuffre’s work has received various local, regional and national accolades. Ms. Giuffre holds an M.S. in Management with a specialization in Arts Administration from Lesley School of Management and a B.M. in flute performance from The Boston Conservatory.
Patricia Hohl- (Associate Professor, Arts and Entertainment Management) is an attorney and has advised artists and art organizations for the last twelve years. She also served as the Director of Development for Merrimack Repertory Theatre in Lowell. She is a prize-winning poet, essayist and reviewer/arts writer. J.D. Suffolk University Law School; M.F.A. Bennington College; M.S. Boston University.
Daniel Kozar- (Cosume Designer –in-Residence/Adjunct Instructor) Daniel has been at Dean College since 2002, costuming all major Theatrical and Dance performances. He holds degrees from Marywood University, Scranton, PA, and The Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, NY). Daniel is also the creator of costumes/wardrobes for over 100 theatre, television and film productions. Teaches American Musical Theatre
Marianne Lonati- holds her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Theater Education from Emerson College. She is currently an adjunct professor in the theater department at Dean College. Marianne has been a director and choreographer for Actors’ Collaborative, Bay Colony Productions, the Uncommon Theatre Company and Southborough Players. She created a theater camp for the Stadium Theater in Woonsocket, has taught theater camp for Bay Colony Productions, classes at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts and choreographs for the Franklin middle schools. Marianne lives in Franklin with her husband and three daughters. Sarah Mott- Drawn to clay and paint as creative mediums Sarah has spent years enjoying the exploration, discovery and process inherent in art making. She holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art. Her company, Clay Matter, has produced one of a kind ceramic birdhouses, birdbaths and garden sculpture featured in numerous publications and exhibited in fine craft galleries and museums throughout the US and the world.

Marilyn Schairer-is a veteran broadcast journalist, nominated for several New England Emmy Awards, who teaches several Communication/Media courses as an adjunct faculty at both Dean College and Roger Williams University, Bristol, RI. As a news reporter and anchor, Marilyn has worked in radio and television news for more than twenty-five years in Long Island/Connecticut/ and Rhode Island television markets. Presently, Marilyn works as a freelance reporter in Providence, RI for WPRI/WNAC TV, a duopoly owned by Lin Broadcasting, Inc.
Tom Shaker- (Professor and Coordinator of the Communication Arts Program) Tom received his undergraduate degree from Emerson College and his master’s degree from UMASS. While teaching at Northeastern University Tom earned his doctorate degree from Boston University. He has worked for years producing, directing and editing various video productions including documentaries, corporate video and music video productions. Tom is currently working on a documentary and book about Rhode Island jazz history. He also is a speaker for the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, giving talks on jazz and diner history. Tom serves on the board of directors of the New England Jazz Alliance and the American Diner Museum. He can be heard Monday nights as host of “Soul Serenade” a weekly radio program on WICN (90.5FM and www.wicn.org). Tom also hosts “Spirits of Rhythm” featuring vintage jazz, blues, gospel and swing music on
WGAO, Dean College radio (88.3FM).
