Preschool Open House Exploration and Tours in July and August
Franklin, MA – June 23, 2010 -- Dean College Children’s Center will host Open House Exploration and Tours on two summer days: Wednesday, July 14 and Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Parents of preschool children ages 2 to 6 years can bring their child, explore the classroom, and learn about the Children’s Center programs. Visitors can gather information on enrollment.
The innovative and progressive school is well known in the community for providing an excellent preschool experience. In addition, it is known for hosting informative seminars on childhood development, as well as for its Children’s Festival each spring. The school is NAEYC accredited, with an adult to child ratio of 1:5, credentialed teachers and teachers-in-training providing a professional, caring environment where young children learn through hands-on exploration and enjoy enrichment programs in science, puppetry, music and dance. Outdoor activities and snacks are provided daily. Additionally, our afternoon program provides children with extended pre-kindergarten learning experiences for children entering kindergarten the following year.
The school uses a developmental approach to education which reflects current early education research in child development and peer conflict resolution. “We are a regional resource to parents and educators on peer conflict resolution in young children and our lab school is a demonstration site for sound early education practices. Children learn these strategies from us and learn to make good choices,” states Director Faith Nickolas.
A nationally accredited, non-profit organization, the Children’s Center serves as a lab school for Early Childhood Education majors at Dean College and provides education to community children and families.
