Dean Captures Region XXI Men’s Basketball Title

Franklin, MA, February 27--The Dean College men’s basketball team captured its first Division II basketball title in six years, by defeating the Community College of Rhode Island 91-70 on Saturday, February 27^th. All-American nominee Josh Hodge led all scorers with 21 points, while Victor Holder chipped in with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Colin Burns led all CCRI scorers with 16 points.

Dean now advances to face the winner of the Region III championship contest, which currently houses the number one and three teams in the country, Erie CC and Monroe CC, respectively. The district game will take place next Saturday, March 6^th, at 2:00pm at Dean College’s Pieri Gymnasium. The winner of the district championship game will advance to the national tournament, March 16-20, at Danville Area Community College in Danville, Illinois.
