Dean College Unveils the Morton Family Learning Center
June 26, 2012Dean College proudly announces that it has officially named its learning center the Morton Family Learning Center, named for John S. Morton III ’70 and his family.
“Improving the College’s Learning Center is one of the keys to our future success. In order to help accomplish this goal, the Morton Family has generously decided to support the Learning Center with a sizable gift and we cannot thank them enough for their generosity and vision,” says Coleen Resnick, Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
The goal of the Morton Family Learning Center is to encourage scholastic persistence, and instill a heightened sense of academic responsibility and confidence for Dean College students. The Morton Family Learning Center will now feature assistive technology such as smart pens, iPod/iPad applications, Read & Write Gold, Math Type, Zoom Text , Inspiration, and Dragon Dictate, along with a remodeled and state of the art academic coaching and tutoring space with flat screens and enhanced seating.
“We are thrilled to invest in the upcoming generation and are confident that the advantages we are providing will help current and future students gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in their chosen careers,” states John S. Morton III ’70.
“The development of life-long learning skills and support are an essential part of our personalized learning community and through the efforts of the Morton Family, our learning center is now positioned to achieve those objectives,” states Resnick.
