Dean College dedicates its new Campus Center

Attendees see first-hand the $16M renovation

Dean College dedicated its new $16M campus center in a ceremony that included dignitaries, honored guests, Dean faculty and staff and Dean students.  Notable attendees for the event were the Honorable Timothy P. Murray, Lieutenant Governor; State Senator Karen Spilka; State Representatives James Vallee and Tom Sannicandro; District Director for Representative James McGovern Kathleen Polanowicz and Massachusetts Education Legislative Assistant for Scott Brown Erika Paulhus.  Dr. Paula M. Rooney, president of Dean College presided over the ceremony.

 

“This impressive structure incorporates state-of-the-art dining, performance venues, a fitness center, the Center for Advising and Career Planning, classroom and office space,” said Dr. Rooney.  “The campus center reflects a $16 million investment in the future of Dean College, the Town of Franklin, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts,” added Rooney.

 

"I'm pleased to join the Dean College community to celebrate this enhanced addition on campus," said Lieutenant Governor Murray. "The upgrades to the new campus center will better serve the students by providing a range of helpful resources and services in one facility." 

 

The list of dedications included the Janet and Philip Guidrey Center, Joan and Richard Smith Dining Center, Dr. Frank B. Campanella Board Room, Holly and Jan Kokes Fitness Center, The Robbins Family Center for Advising and Career Planning, Joan and Joseph Mahr Conference Room and the Andres Fernandez and Bill Smith Center for Student Development and Retention.
