Dean Men's Basketball hosts NJCAA District III Championship Game March 6
March 1, 2010Franklin, MA…March, 1, 2010 -- The Dean College men’s basketball team will be hosting the National Junior College Athletic Association’s District III championship game this Saturday, March 6th, at 2 p.m. at Pieri Gymnasium, located on the Franklin campus.
Dean, with a current record of 16-8, advanced to the title game by defeating the Community College of Rhode Island last Saturday, 91-70, to capture the New England regional championship. The Bulldogs will now face Monroe Community College of Rochester, New York, who advanced by defeating Erie Community College, 94-88, in the final of the upstate New York regional championship. Erie at the time was the number one ranked team in the latest NJCAA national poll, while Monroe was ranked number three.
The winner of the district championship game will advance to the national tournament, March 16-20, at Danville Area Community College in Danville, Illinois.
