The Health Sciences major is designed to provide those students interested in entering one of the many health science-related professions the foundational course work in the sciences and general education/liberal arts. Students choosing this major will have opportunities to transfer into numerous programs associated with the allied health field, including nursing, exercise physiology, health science, medial laboratory science, respiratory therapy, nutrition, and rehabilitation and disability studies.
Students intending to major in Health Sciences must have a strong science background and Grade Point Average. Students graduating from Dean and wishing to transfer and obtain their baccalaureate degree need to be aware of the competitive nature of many programs in the allied health field and the need to maintain a G.P.A. of 3.2 or better. Transfer opportunities for Health Science majors exist at Regis College, Simmons College, Curry College, Worcester State College, Boston University, University of Massachusetts Boston, and the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
