Performance & Production Opportunities
Performances are a large part of a dance student's life at Dean. With 4 annual School of Dance productions, 2 musicals, and 4 dance clubs, continual opportunities to choreograph and perform exist starting from freshman year throughout one's career at Dean.
The School of Dance's four annual concerts showcase the talents of our students. "Cabaret" kicks off the year celebrating the performing arts scene on campus. For "Senior Showcase", the senior dance majors claim the stage as soloists after a semester of work with up-and-coming choreographers. In the "Choreographers Concert", students have the opportunity to have their choreography adjudicated, receiving feedback by professionals in the field. And in the "Dance Company" concert, company members show the depth and breadth of their training in tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, pointe, and ballet pieces.

In addition to touring annually for the National College Dance Festival, many guests like Maurice Hines, Capezio Ace-Award winning choreographer Al Blackstone, members of Alvin Ailey, members of the Martha Graham Dance Company, Pilobolus, and stars from "So You Think You Can Dance" have offered master classes and residencies for Dean dancers.
