The Joan Phelps Palladino School of Dance

Dean College is the only college in the Northeast offering an A.A. and a B.A. in Dance.

At Dean you’ll benefit from personalized teaching and receive a strong preparation in ballet, jazz, modern, and tap within the context of a liberal arts curriculum. The program also features additional master classes with professional dancers and choreographers, as well as trips to dance, music and theatre performances in Boston and New York.

Students majoring in Dance are exposed to an in-depth curriculum in ballet, jazz, tap, and modern dance and can complete the baccalaureate degree in Dance at Dean. Our classes are conducted in one of six dance studios. The Dean College School of Dance also offers students the opportunity to audition for and be a part of many exciting on-campus productions, including the highly recognized Dean Dance Company.

The History of Dance at Dean…

The college has offered an Associate in Arts degree in Dance for the last two decades. Dean College also offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance. B.A. Dance students may also minor in Business/Business Technology, Psychology, or Theatre. Through the independent Study, the School of Dance is affiliated with the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York.
