Learning Services

Dean College provides learning services and a personal touch not experienced at other institutions. 

Located in the Green Family Library Learning Commons, the Morton Family Learning Center works closely with each student to promote a holistic educational experience. The Morton Family Learning Center provides a wide spectrum of services to meet the specific academic needs of the College's diverse student population.

The goal of the Center is to encourage scholastic persistence, instill a heightened sense of responsibility and academic confidence, and develop life-long learning skills for all students. The Morton Family Learning Center is committed to maximizing students potential and strengths to achieve academic and personal success. 

The Morton Family Learning Center is a dynamic facility which is home to a dedicated staff of professional academic coaches and tutors, comfortable study spaces, state of the art technology, interchangeable workstation wired for laptop use, and advanced assistive learning technology tools to meet the needs of students’ individual learning styles.  The faculty directed Writing Center is also a critical component of the Morton Family Learning Center. 

  Programs and Services:
  • Coaching and Tutoring – Extensive, professionally and student-staffed services available to all students
  • Disability Support Services – Provides free assistance and resources to students with documented learning, physical and psychiatric disabilities
  • Assistive Technology – Advanced learning tools available to all students

 

 Learning Community:
  • Arch Learning Community -- for students with diagnosed learning disabilities and/or other learning challenges such as attention and memory difficulties that would benefit from additional academic support while taking part in a traditional college curriculum.
