STUDENT VISA INFORMATION

All international students need a Form I-20 in order to obtain a F-1 Student Visa to study in the United States. Dean College provides assistance for the students in this process. All international applicants must complete and submit the Declaration and Certification of Finances Form in order to be authorized to receive a Form I-20. Students should be sure to closely follow the 5 steps below in order to assure a timely response from Dean College.

Students already attending high school or another college or university in the United States must arrange a transfer of their F-1 Student Visa with the Dean College International Student Advisor. It is the student’s responsibility to maintain legal status while living in the United States.

REQUIREMENTS FOR OBTAINING AN  F-1 STUDENT VISA

1) Complete the Declaration and Certification of Finances Form. The form will require, in addition to a bank official’s signature, a parental signature and any additional sponsor signatures.

2) The fully completed Declaration and Certification of Finances Form should be submitted along with the student’s application for admission in order to assure a timely response from Dean College. (If necessary the Declaration and Certification of Finances Form can be faxed, however the original will be required before a Form I-20 is issued.)

3) Students who are accepted to Dean College will receive notice of their acceptance by mail.  If the student chooses to attend Dean College, they must submit an enrollment deposit of $400.  A Form I-20 can not be issued until the required deposit has been received.

4) Upon the receipt of the enrollment deposit, Dean College will send the Form I-20.

5) The Form I-20 and the Declaration and Certification of Finances Form, along with the student’s passport, must then be presented to the local US Consul in order to obtain a F-1 Student Visa.
