IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE CEREMONY, ALL ARE INVITED TO A RECEPTION IN THE CAMPUS CENTER ATRIUM. PLEASE COME AND CELEBRATE WITH CLASSMATES, FAMILY AND FRIENDS!


IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR GRADUATES:


Commencement Check-In - Graduate students should arrive at the Campus Center, Multipurpose Room for official Commencement Check-In and Registration, starting at 11:15 a.m. Only graduating students will be allowed into the Multipurpose Room. Family members and friends should go directly to Grant Field.

Cap & Gown - Bring your cap and gown to Check-In, as you will proceed directly from the Campus Center to the Commencement Ceremony at Grant Field. The cap and gown are yours to keep as a reminder of your graduation from Dean College.  If you did not receive your cap and gown please note the alternate time below.
 
Personal Belongings -  Do not bring personal belongings into the Multipurpose Room. Give purses, bags, cell phones, jackets, etc. to family members or friends, prior to your arrival for Check-In, as you will NOT be allowed to leave anything in the MPR or bring these items to the Commencement Ceremony.

Procession Line-up  - Graduates should be checked in and ready for Commencement line-up NO LATER THAN 12:00 NOON. The graduating class of 2008 will be arranged in order of presentation of diplomas.

 CAP AND GOWN PICK-UP:  Campus Center, outside the Center for Academic Support Services, on Commencement morning , Saturday, May 10, starting at 10AM.

PLEASE NOTE:
USE OF CELL PHONES DURING THE CEREMONY IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
GRADUATES ARE REQUIRED TO REMAIN IN THEIR SEATS DURING THE ENTIRE CEREMONY.
APPROPRIATE STUDENT CONDUCT IS EXPECTED DURING ALL COMMENCEMENT ACTIVITIES.

Street Closings:
Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.

  • During the processions -
    Main Street is closed to traffic between School and Emmons Streets 12:45-1:15PM & 3:30-3:50PM.
  • For the Ceremony - School Street will be closed between Main and Hillside Streets from 12:30PM-3:30PM.

Directions to Dean College from I-495:

Take Exit 17 to Route 140 South. Follow 140 toward Franklin to fourth set of traffic lights (Edwin's Gifts on left) and take a left onto Beaver St. At second set of traffic lights (Town Green on right, Church on left) bear right onto Main St. Follow Main St. to Dean College. Dean Hall will be on your left.

 

Commencement Parking:

From Stop sign at Main and Emmons Streets (with Dean Hall on your left), turn left onto Emmons Street (Note: Emmons is a one-way street from that corner up to the Dean Hall parking lot). Just before the end of Emmons Street take a left into the Jones Parking Lot. This parking area is directly adjacent to Grant Field, where the Commencement exercises will be held under the Event tent.
