HOSTS 11th ANNUAL SPRING CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL

Games, pony rides and a petting zoo are just some of the highlight’s of this year’s Dean College Children’s Center Spring Festival. In the event of inclement weather, the Festival will be held inside the Campus Center. Free parking is available near the Campus Center.

Attractions will include more than a dozen activities such as children’s games, arts for children, pony rides, moonwalks, children’s DJ, and Lil’ Folk farm animals! Tickets for activities will be sold at the door. Refreshments and lunch foods will be sold. Admission is free. Numerous baskets filled with items for young and old alike will be available for the Auction and Raffles that will take place during the Festival. Vendors will also display their goods and services throughout the day.

The Spring Children’s Festival is the largest fund-raiser of the year for the Dean College Children’s Center. This major fund-raising effort is being organized by the Center’s Parent Committee.  Dean College Children’s Center is a NAEYC accredited, non-profit organization, providing preschool children with an initial school experience that reflects current research in child development and early childhood education.   Dean College Children’s Center is a non-profit, NAEYC accredited preschool providing children with an initial school experience that reflects current research in child development and Early Childhood Education.  It also serves as a lab school experience for Dean College Early Childhood Education students preparing for careers in childcare and education.

 

The school is well known in the community for providing an excellent preschool experience, hosting informative seminars on parenting and childhood development, and for its annual spring Children’s Festival.

Innovative and progressive, the school uses a developmental approach to education which reflects current early education research.  In addition, it conducts research on issues such as peer conflict resolution, empathy development, and gender differences in use of materials.

 The adult to child ratio is 1:4, with credentialed teachers and teachers-in-training providing a professional, caring environment where young children enjoy learning through hands-on exploration, play, outdoor activities, and enrichment programs in science, puppetry and dance, with snacks provided.
