In order for you to enter the United States on a student (F-1) visa, you must obtain a completed Certificate of Eligibility (I-20) form from the college or university you plan to attend. To complete the I-20 form, Dean College must have on fIle the appropriate documentation required by the U.S. State Department and the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). If you are currently in the United States on a F-1 visa, you still must complete a Declaration and Cettification of Finances Form.

Dean College does not award need based financial aid to international students. (Only U.S. citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents are eligible for financial aid.) You must certify that you will have adequate financial resources to meet the full costs of attending Dean College (approximately U.S. $41,080  for your first year of study).

The Declaration and Certification of Finances Form is an application requirement. The required documentation must be on file in order for us to render a final decision. You may submit:

A. Declaration and Certification of Finances Form once it has been completed by both a bank official and your parent! guardian ! sponsor.
OR

B. Original letters from a bank official and your parent/guardian/sponsor. The letter (signed by your parent/ guardian/sponsor must state that they are willing to cover the full costs of the first year of your education (approximately U.S. $41,080). The bank letter (written on bank letterhead with bank official's signature) must state that U.S. $41,080 is available. If you submit letters in lieu of the Declaration and Certification of Finances Form, please be sure to include the applicant's name, residential or business address (I-20 forms are mailed via a courier service and cannot be delivered to a post office box), telephone number, fax number, date of birth, and country of citizenship.

The Declaration and Cettification of Finances Form or bank/sponsor letters must:

• be written in English
  
• contain original documents and a bank stamp or seal
  
• refer to the total costs in U.S. $
  
• be original documents (photocopies and faxed copies are not acceptable)

Dean College Student Expenses for 2008-2009 * estimated based on 2007-2008 rates. The actual costs, particularly personal expenditures and travel, may vary based on an individual's needs. The estimates provided are, in most cases, minimum costs. Actual cost will be set in February 2008.
