  • Random Acts of Kindness Week: 5 Things You Can do to be Kind

    Random Acts of Kindness 2018

It always feels good to do something nice for someone else. Scott Adams once said, ““There’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.” That’s why Dean College is celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week from February 12th through February 16th, 2018.

Read on for 5 random acts of kindness you could do this week!

    1. Send someone a thank-you! On February 12th, stop by the Dean Community Outreach (DCO) table on the concourse from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and give them the name of the person you want to thank with a note! DCO will send that person a certificate that thanks them for making a difference!

    2. Pay for the coffee of the person behind you. Spare $2 and offer to pay for the coffee of the person behind you in line at the drive-thru or even in line behind you at Bulldog Beanery!

    3. Make a compliment jar. On Wednesday, February 14th, stop by the DCO table on the concourse and design your own compliment jar. Then, fill the jar with compliments for a friend, mentor or loved one and give it to them as a gift! It’ll be sure to brighten their day!

    4. Help someone carry their things. See someone struggling in the parking lot to carry their stuff? Help them out!

    5. Volunteer. There are 3 opportunities this week to give back to the local community! On Tuesday, February 13th the American Red Cross will be in the campus center from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. taking blood donations. If you’re interested in donating, register here and use the sponsor code “Dean College.” On Thursday, February 15th, the Franklin Food Pantry is looking for students, faculty and staff to help unload their food delivery. Sign up here! Not available on Thursday? No worries, the Franklin Food Pantry is also looking for help on Friday, February 16th to help stock shelves. Sign up here! If you can’t volunteer this week, there are many other opportunities coming up this semester, so keep you
