    freshman year tips

The Intern Corner features blog posts with helpful advice from our current marketing intern on campus!

College can be overwhelming. There is a lot going on and it is helpful to come prepared. Here are five tips that can help you stay even more on your game this upcoming semester!

Get to know people on your floor. Leave your door open, you never know who you’ll meet. They may become your new best friends.

Don’t let your laundry get out of control! If you have a months’ worth of laundry in your room, it will smell, and your roommate will get mad. Try doing it once a week but avoid the laundry room at all cost on Sundays. The laundry room is always crazy on Sundays because everyone is trying to get ready for the week.

Go to Review Sessions and Office hours. Whether you are doing well in the class or are struggling these are helpful resources. A review session is one of the best ways to make sure you are prepared for a test. Most of the time you are going over questions that are very similar to what you will be tested on. If you are struggling in a class it is important to seek out help during office hours well before a test. Office hours are great for getting a better understanding of the material or learning more about the subject if you really like the class.

Get Involved! There are so many things to do on campus so it is important to try anything and everything that might interest you. For full list check out the student activities page here (link or whatever)

Talk to your parents. Even though you’re a big college hot shot now make some time for them, they love and miss you. A call or text can go a long way. They are the perfect people to vent to and if you’re lucky they might even send you a nice care package in the mail.
