  • Winter is Here: 5 Fun Winter Activities

    Students are back on-campus, and the semester has officially started. Even though it’s cold outside, don’t let that stop you from having some fun on- and off-campus this winter!

    Read on for our list of 5 local winter activities!

    1. Head to a basketball game. Both the men and women’s basketball teams are having a great season! Get over to Pieri Gym and cheer on your fellow bulldogs at one of the many upcoming home games! For all athletic schedules, click here.

    2. Go skiing or snowboarding. Dean College is located approximately one hour away from skiing and snowboarding resorts including Wachusett Mountain in Princeton, MA. So, grab some friends and head to the mountain for a fun-filled day on the slopes! To learn more, click here

    3. See the School of Arts’ performance of Twelfth NightThe Dean College School of the Arts will be presenting its first production of the semester starting Wednesday, February 21st through Sunday, February 26thGrab your tickets from the box office and head over to the Performing Arts Studio for a fantastic presentation of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

    4. Visit the Museum of Fine Arts for the Lunar New Year. On February 10th, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is celebrating the Lunar New Year! The museum will host exhibits that explore Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese traditions, while also hosting a variety of music and dance performances throughout the museum.     5. Go ice skating. Ice skating is a classic winter activity and there is a long list of places nearby to get out on the ice. FMC Ice Sports in Franklin has public skating hours every day. Or if you’re looking to make a trip of it, head into Boston to skate on the Boston Common Frog Pond, located in the oldest and most treasured public park in the United States! Another great skating option is located near Boston’s City Hall Plaza, where their “winter wonderland” hosts a giant outdoor skating path.
