Dean College Presents Much Ado About Nothing February 26th - March 2nd

      02/24/2014

Much Ado About Nothing is considered one of Shakespeare's brightest comedies, combining elements of robust hilarity with meditations on honor, shame, and court politics. Similar to As You Like It and Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing, though interspersed with darker concerns, is a joyful comedy that ends with multiple marriages and no deaths.

The Dean College production of Much Ado About Nothing opens Wednesday, February 26, 2014 and will play through Sunday, March 2, 2014.  The production will take place in the Main Stage within the Campus Center at Dean College from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Tickets are $5/$10/$20 and can be purchased online by clicking here.

Dean College to Host New England Regional Championship Men's Basketball Game Saturday, March, 1, 2014

      02/24/2014

The Dean College men's basketball team will be hosting the New England Regional (Region XXI) Championship Game this Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the college's Pieri Gymnasium.  Dean, with a record of 17-3 and currently ranked 12th in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association national poll, will play the Community College of Rhode Island with a game time set at 1:00 p.m.  The two teams have met twice this season, with the Dean Bulldogs coming out on top in both contests, with a 94-81 victory, and just last week, a 108-69 victory.  The winner this weekend will advance to the district championship game on March 8, 2014 at the site of the upstate New York region champion.

Dean's success has come with a fast-paced running and pressing game, as they lead the nation in steals at the Division II level with fifteen a game.  Offensively, they have a balanced attack led by Joe Clarke (13.8 ppg), Charles Correa (13.7) and Jamal Reuben (13.6).  They are currently riding a three-game winning streak with two regular season games remaining, Monday at UConn-Avery point and at home on Wednesday versus Bunker Hill Community College.

Additionally, the women's basketball team will be competing this weekend at the New England Regional (Region XXI) Championships held at Monroe College in New Rochelle, New York.  The women enter the regional tournament as the top-seeded team with a 15-4 record, and will face the fourth-seeded Orange County Community College squad on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
