      Dean College Receives Davis Educational Foundation Grant

      Dean College has been awarded $180,150 from the Davis Educational Foundation.

      The grant will support the proposal titled The Bulldog Experience: Curriculum and Career Integration, which will create a robust, connective four-year framework that integrates career preparation with the curriculum and co-curriculum.

      This project recognizes the need for formalized career preparation to support every student’s career exploration and achievement of career-building accomplishments before graduation. 

      “Dean College is thrilled to receive funding from the Davis Educational Foundation,” says Project Co-Director Wendy Adler, Associate Vice President, Student Success and Career Planning. “We are committed to providing our students with a quality education that will last beyond their time here,” adds Melissa Read, Assistant Vice President, Academic Affairs and Project Co-Director.

      Dean College to Host Discover Dean Day, March 23, 2019

      Dean College hosts many events throughout the year to help prospective students and families see The Dean Difference firsthand.

      Discover Dean Days are full day open house programs that include campus tours, presentations and opportunities to meet with faculty, staff and students from throughout the Dean community.

      The following is the schedule for Discover Dean Day on Saturday, March 23, 2019:

      9:30am Registration and Continental Breakfast

      10:00am Welcome and Overview

      10:45am Academic Fair

      11:15am-1:00pm Discover The Dean Difference: Explore our campus through a variety of activities that will allow you to visit one-on-one with faculty and staff and get all your questions answered. You will find a voucher in your packet to visit the Smith Dining Center when you are in the mood for lunch.

      Dean College to Host Executive Lecture, March 20, 2019

      Dean College is honored to host Brigadier General Donald Bolduc ‘86, US Army, Retired, for the Dean College Leadership Institute Executive Lecture Series on Wednesday, March 20, 2019.

      The Executive Series offers a unique and interactive opportunity for students, alumni and the local community to interact with today’s business leaders.

      BG Donald Bolduc, Class of 1986, retired in 2017 after 32 years of active duty service to his country in which he received two awards for valor, five Bronze Star medals, two Purple Hearts, led ten deployments, and survived a bomb blast, numerous fire fights and a helicopter crash.

      BG Bolduc, former Commander, Special Operations Command Africa, has hung up his fatigues to advocate for veterans and their families, the treatment and shedding the stigma of PTS, TBI, pain management, sleep disorders and neurotoxicity both from within the US military as well as the general public. 

      Featuring an unprecedented list of national business leaders, including past speakers like Bert Jacobs and Anne M. Finucane, the Executive Lecture Series is a signature event for the Dean Leadership Institute and an exciting opportunity for our students and the community to gain knowledge from an experienced business executive. 

      The speaking program will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Guidrey Center at Dean College, 109 West Central Street, Franklin, MA on March 20, 2019. The program is FREE and open to the public. For more information, visit www.dean.edu/dli.

      Dean College Presents: Catch Me If You Can, April 3-7, 2019

      The School of the Arts at Dean College will perform Catch Me If You Can, beginning Wednesday, April 3rd through Sunday, April 7, 2019.

      Based on the hit film and the incredible true story, Catch Me If You Can is the tale of Frank Abignale, Jr, an irreverent and precocious teenager who runs away from home. Relying on his charm, imagination and millions in forged checks, he poses as a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer, while enjoying the fast lane and winning the girl of his dreams. J. Edgar Hoover’s F.B.I. soon becomes involved and it is agent Carl Hanratty’s driving mission to track young Frank down and to make him pay for his crimes. Catch Me If You Can is a big and bright spectacle with high-energy dance numbers and a riveting story.

      The Dean College production of Catch Me If You Can will take place in the Main Stage in the Campus Center at Dean College, 109 West Central Street, Franklin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday and 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. General admission is $22, Seniors $12 and Children $7.

      Due to the weather forecast for Saturday, March 2, 2019, the Dance and Theatre Auditions, as well as the Saturday with Dean program, have been cancelled.
