      Winter Intersession Courses Begin January 6, 2014

      The School of Continuing Studies welcomes Dean College & non-Dean students to earn credits through intersession courses over winter break.

      A wide variety of accelerated courses are offered in the morning, afternoon and evening beginning on January 6th, 2014. Most courses are for three credits.

      Dean College to Offer Electronic Transcript Service

      Effective August 1, 2014, Dean College will provide electronic transcripts in addition to print transcripts to current students and alumni.

      If you graduated prior to 1994, you will still need to complete a transcript request form, but if you graduated after 1994, you may order and purchase your transcript entirely online.

      The fees for these transcript services are $6 for electronic transcripts and $10 for printed transcripts.

      Dean College to Hold Summer Preview Days

      Interested in learning more about the Dean Difference? Dean College will be hosting Summer Preview Days on three Fridays this summer – July 25, August 1 and August 8.

      This event includes an information session at 10:00am where you will learn all about what Dean has to offer. Following the information session, you will then head out on a tour of campus lead by one of our current students. Finish the day with lunch in the Dining Commons where admissions counselors will be able to answer all your questions.

      Can’t make any of these Friday events? Dean also offers tours and informational interviews on weekdays at 10:00am and 2:00pm.

      Dean College Presents Summer Performance of Grease

      Grease is The Word!    

      Tickets for the Star Players of Bristol County and Dean College's production of GREASE are now on sale!

      Grease performs August 1, 2, 7, 8, 9 at 7:30pm and August 3, 10 at 2:00pm at the Gerald A. Croteau Theatre at the Friedman School in Taunton, MA and August 21, 22, 23 at 7:30pm and August 23, 24 at 2pm at the Dean College Main Stage Theater in Franklin, MA. 

      The show is directed by Dean faculty member Jim Beauregard, produced by faculty members Daniel Kozar and Joel Thayer, will feature 20 Dean students, will star Daniel Kozar as “Miss Lynch,” and will have a guest appearance by Dean Dave Drucker as the “Coach.”

      Grease is a 1971 musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. The musical is named for the 1950s United States working-class youth subculture known as greasers. The musical, set in 1959 at fictional Rydell High School follows ten working-class teenagers as they navigate the complexities of love and life. The overall themes of this show are love, friendship, teenage rebellion, sexual exploration during adolescence, and, to some extent, class consciousness/class conflict.

      Dean College Welcomes New Assistant Vice President for Enrollment/Dean of Admissions

      Dean College welcomes Iris Godes as Assistant Vice President for Enrollment/Dean of Admissions. Godes has over 25 years of experience in higher education. Her new role will focus on setting the enrollment strategy for Dean College.

      Prior to her new position at Dean, Godes served as the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management at Quinsigamond Community College, where she oversaw the admissions office, created and implemented recruitment strategies, established admission acceptance policies and managed application processing. During her tenure, Godes also managed the Financial Aid Office, supervising, evaluating and training staff members. Additionally, Iris has also worked at Boston University, Seattle University, and Arizona State University. “I am really looking forward to working with the admissions team at Dean,” said Godes. “I believe in having a collaborative approach to the recruitment and enrollment process, one that maximizes each individual’s strengths while benefiting from the diversity amongst the staff, raising them to the next level.”

      Godes holds a M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology from Boston University and a B.S. in Psychology from Syracuse University. She has served on local, regional and national boards and is past-president of the Massachusetts Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (MASFAA). Additionally, Iris has presented at numerous conferences both locally and nationally and has served as a volunteer counselor at Framingham High School, assisting students and families with the college application and financial aid process.  

      "We are excited to welcome Iris to Dean College,” said John Marcus, Vice President of Enrollment Services and Marketing. “Given her extensive background in admissions and financial aid at a variety of higher education institutions, Iris will be instrumental in guiding our enrollment strategies and continuing to promote the Dean Difference to our various constituencies.”

      Dean College Participates in Disability Empowerment Campaign

      Dean College recently participated in Mediaplanet’s Disability Empowerment campaign, in which the learning, intellectual, and developmental disability industries unite to raise awareness about overcoming obstacles often faced by those with a disability.

      We are proud to be featured alongside industry influencers, associations and public figures such as Daymond John, Henry Winkler, Temple Grandin, the Special Olympics organization and many more who share their personal experiences, triumphs and awareness efforts.
