to the 4th Annual Dean Dash 5K Race, we are very excited to host you for a
fourth edition of this great Dean College tradition! We are looking forward to
welcoming over 250 runners, joggers, and walkers for a day of entertainment,
games, food music, and, of course…running! So whether you are a seasoned race
enthusiast or a 5K first-timer, bring a friend or the whole family and join the
Dean College community on what will be a day to remember!
The course will start and finish at Awpie Way located just outside of Dean Hall. You will start promptly at 12:00 PM and take a 3.16-mile walk, jog, or run through the quiet, residential streets of Franklin. Every turn along the course will be clearly marked by a directional sign pointing you down the right path and a course marshal will be present at every road to ensure your safety.
At around the 1 and 2-mile marks, there will be a water station for you to take a break in and re-hydrate. Upon your return, you will be greeted by Boomer the Bulldog at the finish line and ushered to the serving area where you will get to enjoy grilled burgers, hot dogs, a salad and fruit station, and two buckets full of Gatorade bottles to reward yourself for finishing the Dean Dash 5K!
Stick around after the race for the award ceremony presentation, live entertainment by the band Barefoot Young, inflatable games sponsored by Student Activities Committee, lawn games hosted by Outdoor Recreation and Activity Club, and picture opportunities with Boomer and a Franklin FD firetruck!

Registration prices will increase by $5 on race day so don’t wait!
Your registration grants you the following: A race t-shirt, race bib, drawstring bag souvenir, lunch, hydration station, and live entertainment.
The awards presentation ceremony will be held at 1:15 PM from the main stage
Please arrive no later than 11:30 AM at the registration table to ensure plenty of time to process your registration and get you ready to run.
Bring a photo ID to the registration table so we can check you in and give you your t-shirt and race bib, you do not need to print your confirmation email.
If you have purchased a registration entry for one or more people beside yourself, please have either the person(s) with you or their names ready so we can register them on site.
You may follow signage around town towards the Dean Hall parking lot located behind Dean Hall. Once you arrive, ushers will point you in the direction of our registration table.
At registration, you will receive a souvenir drawstring bag which you can use to store any belongings during the race. The bag check area will be directly across from the registration table and will be monitored and staffed at all times. Please note that we will only be able to check the drawstring bags we provide to you and whatever you place inside them. Please leave large bags and other valuable items in your vehicle.
Please join Dean College as we partner with the Franklin Food Pantry to collect items that are currently in need (deodorant, coffee, dental floss, toothpaste, and hand soap). Items can be brought to the Dean Dash 5K on Saturday, April 8th to the Dean Community Outreach table. For every item donated, participants will be given a raffle ticket towards an Amazon Gift Card, sponsored by Dean Community Outreach. Thank you for your support and contribution!
