Scholarships are awards from the College or from private entities and generally based on academic merit, athletic achievement or extracurricular performance.  They do not have to be repaid and are directly deducted from your tuition bill. 

All students accepted to Dean College are evaluated for Dean College Scholarships. These scholarships are based solely on the information that students provide on their admissions application, they are NOT based on financial need.

Students are not required to apply for financial aid in order to be considered for Dean College scholarships. We do encourage all students to apply for financial aid, since the majority of our students do qualify for federal and/or state aid programs. Dean College scholarships are renewable if a student maintains Satisfactory Academic Progress as outlined in the Dean College Catalog.

Trustee's Scholarship

The Trustee's Scholarship recognizes outstanding academic accomplishments or potential while in high school. Students need to maintain Satisfactory Academic progress in order to have the award renewed for the following year.  The amount for this scholarship ranges from $10,000 to $12,000 per year. 

President's Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes students who held leadership positions during their high school careers or who have a history of community service. Award amounts range from $8,000 - $12,000 per academic year and are renewable as long as students maintain Satisfactory Academic progress.

Performing Arts Scholarship

The Performing Arts Scholarship recognizes outstanding achievement in either Dance or Theatre. Students who have demonstrated their ability to perform will be considered for these awards. Students must also declare either Dance or Theatre as their academic major. Award amounts range from $5,000 to $11,000 per academic year and are renewable provided that the student continues to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress and major in dance or theatre. If a student changes majors during their Dean career, their award will be revised and may cause a reduction in the amount of the award.


Athletic Scholarships

These scholarships are determined by the Athletic department and are given to student athletes who display outstanding ability in a given sport. Students will be contacted directly by the respective team coach and/or the Athletic Director. These awards are renewable at the discretion of the coach and Athletic Director. If a student does not continue to participate in athletics, their scholarship will be revised.

Dean Award

Dean believes in the ability of all students to succeed.  Dean Awards are given to students who demonstrate academic potential but perhaps did not reach that potential while in high school. These awards are renewable provided that the student maintains Satisfactory Academic Progress and award amounts range from $6,000 - $10,000 per academic year.

Commuter Grant

These awards are given to students who decide to commute to Dean. We have many students who commute from the neighboring towns and are pleased to offer this award to commuters. These awards are renewable provided that the student maintains Satisfactory Academic Progress and award amounts range from $3,000 - $8,000 per academic year.


Private Scholarships

Students are strongly encouraged to search and apply for private scholarships that may be awarded either locally or nationally. Students should begin applying for scholarships at the end of the junior year of high school or by the end of the first semester of their senior year.  Students should use online resources and contact their high school guidance counselor for assistance. These scholarships do not influence the amount of institutional aid that you are awarded by Dean.
