LIBRARY

Library Student Assistants responsibilities include shelving books, filing magazines, newspapers and microfilm; assisting with the processing of new books; photocopying, running errands around campus; and assisting the Director and Library Staff as needed.  Must be very attentive to details.  Training will be provided.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and Sunday through Thursday nights. Students interested in working nights MUST work the four-hour shift from 6 – 10 p.m.

Lab Assistant Lab assistant position to work with professors in the set up and management of lab materials for lab classes.  Opportunities will exist for students to assist professors during lab sessions.  Students will also be trained in basic lab safety.  This position will allow the student a behind the scenes look at the running of the science lab. Students contemplating a further study in science, health, forensics or education will find this an interesting experience. PUBLIC SAFETY

Student Escort - provide walking escorts to and from residential and academic buildings.  Skills: personable, trustworthy, dependable, and courteous.  Evening and weekend hours available.

Campus Center Safety Monitor - insure general calm and secure atmosphere for Campus Center, monitoring all areas and reporting any infraction of Dean College Policies or rules.  Skills: will be working independently and interacting with both students and staff, therefore, must be a mature individual who is committed, dependable, alert, and observant.  Evening and weekend hours available.

Fire Marshal - check and oversee all fire equipment, i.e. fire extinguisher, alarmed fire doors, emergency exit signs for the residence halls and academic buildings on campus.  Reporting any damage, misuse, or vandalism to the Public Safety Office.  Skills: must be very responsible and mature as these checks are very important to the safety and well being of students and staff. RESIDENCE LIFE AND STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Woodward House Office Assistants- All Woodward House office assistants are required to greet visitors and answer incoming phone calls while providing assistance to department staff.  General office duties include filing, photocopying, posting materials, assisting clubs and organizations, making signs and posters, retrieving mail, and other assigned duties.  Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Print Shop, general computer skills, typing skills, organizational skills, some artistic ability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality, and be prompt are all important to successful job performance.

Game Room Attendants- Students are needed to staff the game room in the campus center.  The game room attendants would oversee the use of game room equipment and maintenance of the bulletin boards.  They would be responsible for locking the doors after their shift.  Shifts are available on weekdays and on weekends.

Student Activities Office Assistants- This office needs students to assist in generating publicity and maintaining the banners and bulletin boards in the campus center.  Duties will include photocopying and posting flyers, designing and tracing banners, cutting out and creating bulletin boards, and supporting other creative advertising efforts!  The office is open from 8:30am until 4:30pm Monday through Friday, all shifts are available.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS CENTER

Telecommunications Center Assistant - the Communications Program is looking for students to work in the Telecommunications Center Monday through Friday during the day, and also Sunday evening hours.  Hours flexible and students will be trained.  Prospective students should have a strong interest in audio/video production.  Students need not be communication majors, though it would be an asset.

Responsibilities -Monitor and assist students in telecommunication labs, monitor and assist students using TV studio equipment and editing equipment, checkout and return portable TV equipment and audio lab materials, assist engineer with maintenance and inspection of equipment inventory, give tours to visitors when applicable.

WELLNESS CENTER

Receptionist – duties include welcoming students to the Wellness Center during evening counseling hours. Referring students to Public Safety for any medical concerns or transport needs. Hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 2:30pm – 6:00 pm.

ASPECT ~ INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE ACADEMY
