Dean College announces a search for an Assistant Vice President of Institutional Advancement for Leadership Gifts. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement, and in close coordination with the President of the College, this individual will be the principal strategist for the leadership and major giving program of the College. The principal role of the Assistant Vice President is securing major gifts. To that end, this individual must be highly motivated to identify, research, cultivate, solicit and steward major donors. The AVP will work closely with the President in the development and execution of tailored strategies for each leadership gift prospect.
Qualifications The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 7–10 years of experience in development work with extensive experience in the areas of major and leadership giving with a proven track record of raising money. S/he will hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and have a basic understanding of planned giving. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, outstanding organizational and interpersonal capabilities, ability to influence and persuade, and a tremendous level of initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The Humanities Department at Dean College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of English. This is a new full-time position beginning in September 2008, focused on teaching in the writing program and helping to strengthen the department’s commitment to student writing and research skills.
Qualifications PhD in Rhetoric Composition or English, with priority given to candidates who have teaching experience in a 2-year college and/or the first two years of an undergraduate experience as well as upper level teaching, and an understanding of composition pedagogy. Dean will consider applicants that have experience and interest in teaching analytical and research skills to developing college writers.

Dean College invites candidates to apply for an Assistant Professor of History with a focus on teaching introductory survey courses in American History and World Civilization and additionally, a special topics course in the candidate’s field of interest. This full-time position begins in September 2008.

FYS 100 is designed to help students make a successful transition into college by teaching them the academic and personal strategies needed for college success. Instructors will teach two sections of FYS 100 which are paired with one liberal arts course taught by another instructor. FYS 100 instructors use the material from the content course to teach study strategies to students. Requirements Masters degree in education or related field required; strong preference given to candidates who have taught study strategies to college students with diverse learning styles and learning challenges, including learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD. Instructors with background in special education, and working with students with documented learning disabilities, are specifically needed.
Additional Information All sections are taught in the day (between 9 am and 5:30 pm). This is a part-time position requiring 12 hours on campus each week (6 hours in the FYS classroom; 3 hours observing the liberal arts class; and 2-3 office hours per week).

The Athletic Department at Dean College is currently looking for a candidate to head the men’s lacrosse program. This individual will oversee all aspects of a NJCAA program including: recruiting, practice and game preparation, and the academic success of the student-athletes. Other responsibilities of the position within the department include overseeing all aspects of managing the uniforms and equipment for eleven intercollegiate athletics. There are also supervisory duties in the evening during the academic year. The position is a nine-month salaried position, beginning on August 15, 2008. The candidate selected will be expected to continue the recruitment of interested student-athletes for the fall 2008 academic class.
Qualifications The candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with previous related experience.
