      Men's Basketball Region XXI Championships

      women's basketball

The Dean College Basketball teams made college history this past weekend by capturing Region XXI Championships in the same year.  The men, led by Keyon Armstrong's 24 points, defeated the Community College of Rhode Island, 82-67.  It was the third win of the season against the Knights, and places the Bulldogs in the District 2 Championship game this Saturday.  Dean, at 20-3, will take on Monroe Community College (23-6), winner of the Region III championship, at 12:00 noon at Pieri Gymnasium on Dean's Franklin campus.  Dean is ranked 11th in the latest NJCAA national poll while Monroe is 14th.  The winner will advance to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in Danville, Illinois on March 18-23, 2014.

The women earned their first Region championship Saturday by defeating Orange County Community College, 81-76.  This is head coach Grahm Smith's first year as the Dean College women's coach and his pressing and fast break style was instrumental in the team's success, as Dean led the country in steals this year, averaging 17 thefts a game.  The 17-5 Lady Bulldogs will also host their District Tournament on Saturday, taking on Essex County College (19-11) at 2:00 p.m at Pieri Gymnasium.  At 4:00, Monroe College (20-10) will meet Manor College (16-9), with the two semifinal winners competing for the championship on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.  The winner will advance to the NJCAA Division II national tournament at Johnson County Community College, March 18-22, 2014.

Dean College Presents Much Ado About Nothing February 26th - March 2nd

Much Ado About Nothing is considered one of Shakespeare's brightest comedies, combining elements of robust hilarity with meditations on honor, shame, and court politics. Similar to As You Like It and Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing, though interspersed with darker concerns, is a joyful comedy that ends with multiple marriages and no deaths.

The Dean College production of Much Ado About Nothing opens Wednesday, February 26, 2014 and will play through Sunday, March 2, 2014.  The production will take place in the Main Stage within the Campus Center at Dean College from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Tickets are $5/$10/$20 and can be purchased online by clicking here.
