The Dean College Athletic Department is excited to announce that Stacia Saniuk-Gove has been named the new Head Softball Coach. She takes over for John Jackson, who retired from coaching to concentrate on his duties as athletic director.

Stacia Saniuk-Gove begins her head coaching career with the Bulldogs after her most recent duties as assistant coach at her alma mater, Bates College. Saniuk-Gove will be teaching theatre production and designing for the Dean College Theatre Department as well.

In college, Saniuk-Gove was a four-year starting catcher and designated hitter for Bates College. She earned NESCAC Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman and was also named to the All-NESCAC team all four years. Her senior year, she was a ECAC Division III New England All-Star Second Team, a Louisville Slugger/NFCA Divison III All-Region Second Team, team MVP and held top NESCAC statistics for batting average, slugging percentage and on-base percentage. Saniuk-Gove still holds six school records at Bates in career and single season offensive categories.

Saniuk-Gove has previously coached at the University of Maine at Farmington, as well as stints in Irvine, California and local travel teams. She also served as a private hitting and catching instructor at Maine Hits (Scarborough, Maine) and Extra Innings (Wrentham, Massachusetts).

A native of Sharon, Massachusetts and Hockomock League All-Star as well as Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic, Saniuk-Gove intends to bring her hitting and leadership expertise to the Dean Bulldog softball program. She received her Master’s Degree in Design from Burlington College and is looking forward to pursuing her two passions, theatrical arts and softball.
