The Health Sciences Associate Degree program is designed to prepare students who wish to enter four-year schools to pursue baccalaureate degrees in the allied health fields.
Allied health is a professional designation that includes, but is not limited to: nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech, biotechnology, medical technology and/or nutrition.
Students who successfully complete these programs on the baccalaureate level are academically strong and possess a high level of maturity. Professional preparation degrees require that students maintain a minimum GPA throughout their matriculation. Post graduation professional licensure on the state and/or national levels is required for allied health professions.
Dean College’s goal is to prepare students for this type of academic challenge and provides realistic opportunities to be successful in these rigorous, competitive academic programs.

1. An interview with the Associate Dean of the School of Professional and Continuing Studies
2. Documentation of High School Diploma or GED
3. Successful completion of an Introductory Biology course with laboratory component at college and/or high school level
Continued participation in the Health Sciences degree program requires:

2. Fulfill all prerequisites course work, major and general education requirements for this major
3. Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
