FACILITIES DEPARTMENT

The Facilities Department's prime responsibility is to provide timely and qualified service to the Dean College community in the maintenance and repair of all campus facilities. The staff consists of custodians, grounds and trade persons. These individuals have the responsibility for cleaning residence halls and academic buildings and the maintenance and repair of issues relating to carpentry, locksmithing, plumbing, heating, electrical and grounds on a daily basis. The Facilities Department has a computerized work order system to initiate and track all such requests and all resident students can avail themselves of a Facilities Department HOTLINE to forward repair requests such as a light out in their room or a lost key. This hotline number is extension 1111. Instructions for hotline use are as follows:

• Leave pertinent information on the voicemail:
- Name
- Building, floor and room number
- Describe, in detail, the work requested
The Facilities Department also assists in snow removal. Major capital improvements are planned at the beginning of each year and performed during winter break and during the summer months.

STUDENT POST OFFICE
Campus Center
All students, resident and commuter, receive a mailbox and mailbox key. All campus correspondence takes place through the mailroom so it is important for students to check their mailboxes regularly for important campus news and information. In addition, resident students receive all U.S. Postal mail and packages through the campus mailroom.
Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 4:00pm

In order for the U.S. Post Office to utilize automation, increase efficiency, and improve mail services the following address format must be used:

Dean College Postal Services sells both domestic and international stamps.
Mailroom Policies:
• Students must have their key to pick up their mail. Mail will not be handed out at the window.
• The slip informing students that they have an article or package too large for their mailbox must be personally presented at the window in order to pick up the item. Students must sign for these items.
• All outgoing mail must have a return address in the upper left hand corner of the envelope.
• Outgoing parcels must be taken to the Franklin Post Office.
• There is a $10.00 charge for a replacement key.
