Dean College Presents: Twelfth Night, February 21-25, 2018

The School of the Arts at Dean College will perform Twelfth Night, beginning Wednesday, February 21 through Sunday, February 25, 2018.

Twelfth Night, or What You Will is a comedy set in the Hotel de Illyria on the French Riviera. The play centers on the twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated in a shipwreck. Viola, disguised as a boy, falls in love with Duke Orsino, who in turn is in love with the Countess Olivia. Throw into this mix a cast of characters, which includes Sir Tobey Belch, Sir Andrew Aguecheek, Feste the Fool, the lusty Maria, and taciturn Malvolio, and you have a riotous tale of mistaken gender and love triumphant on the Cote d'Azur of the Roaring 20's.

The Dean College production of Twelfth Night will take place in the Performing Arts Studio at Dean College, 61 School Street, Franklin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday and 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

General admission is $22, Seniors $12 and Children $7.

Performance in a venue that is not handicap accessible.

Dean College Presents: Footloose, the Musical, November 14-18, 2018

      10/31/2018

The entire run of Footloose is SOLD OUT! Please contact tlane@dean.edu or call 508-541-1605 with any questions.

The School of the Arts at Dean College will perform Footloose, the Musical, beginning Wednesday, November 14 through Sunday, November 18, 2018.

Based on the 1984 screen version, Footloose is an explosive musical that has come to the stage with thrilling results. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to the rural town of Bomont, he is not prepared for the strict religious local edicts, which include a total ban on dancing. Ren breaks all the rules in trying to restore dance to the heart of a community held back by lingering memories of a tragedy. In addition to the original film score’s songs, such as “Let’s Hear it for the Boy,” “Holding out for a Hero,” and the title song, “Footloose,” dynamic new songs written specifically for the stage production are sure to get you to your feet!

Music by Tom Snow; Lyrics by Dean Pitchford with additional music by: Eric Carmen, Sandy Hagar, Kenny Loggins, and Jim Steinman; Stage Adaptation: Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie

The Dean College production of Footloose, the Musical will take place in the Main Stage in the Campus Center at Dean College, 109 West Central Street, Franklin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday and 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. General admission is $22, Seniors $12 and Children $7.
