Location/Course Formats

Full Semester: On-Campus

Courses meet weekly for one hour/credit (e.g., a three-credit course meets for three hours/week), either in person on the Dean College campus or through a synchronous online format. Full semester courses are typically 14 weeks in length.

Accelerated Quarter: Hybrid/On-Campus

Courses meet in person on a weekly basis, in addition to asynchronous online interactions. Students are expected to attend classes on the Dean College campus, as well as complete web-based activities such as, but not limited to, asynchronous discussions and review of content.

Accelerated Quarter: Hybrid/Synchronous Online

Courses meet virtually one night a week, in addition to asynchronous online interactions. Students are expected to attend the weekly live class sessions and participate in web-based activities, such as, but not limited to, asynchronous discussions, simulations, videos, and web-based content.

Accelerated Quarter: Asynchronous Online

Courses are delivered entirely through web-based asynchronous interaction, including discussion boards, videos, and web-based content. There is no required on-campus or synchronous component. Students are expected to log on to the course regularly, and expectations for participating and deliverables will match those of a course requiring a face-to-face component.

*Accelerated quarter courses are typically seven weeks in length.
