Create a dynamic career with a major in pre-athletic training from Dean College.

Are you passionate about exercise science, education, allied health and other sports-related endeavors? Could you see yourself as an athletic trainer, coach or a personal trainer? If your answer is yes, then the Pre-Athletic Training program at Dean College just might be for you!

Program Overview

Geared toward students interested in working alongside physicians as certified athletic trainers, the Pre-Athletic Training program at Dean focuses on the relationship between science, athletics and medicine. While engrossed in the fundamentals of physical fitness, conditioning, anatomy and physiology, you will learn about the care and prevention of injuries, as well as the role of nutrition in any exercise regime. Through internships and practicums offered within coursework, you can practice your skills in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries while under the direct supervision of a Board of Certification (BOC)-certified athletic trainer.

The blend of coursework will prepare you to continue your preparation at a transfer institution for the dynamic and challenging field of athletic training to receive your certification.
