Below is a list of frequently asked questions about the Dean College Summer Pre-College Programs. 

Where will I be staying on campus?

You will be staying in Woodward Hall in suites of 8, 10 or 12 other campers. Your room will be a double or triple. Suites are single gendered. 

Will the residence hall have air conditioning?


Will I have access to wifi?

You will be able to use the campus wifi. Information will be handed out at check-in. 

Are there laundry facilities on campus?

Yes, washers and dryers are located in the basement on Woodward Hall. You will be given a laundry card at check-in. Campers are responsible for adding money for use. A wash cycle is $1.50 and a dry cycle is $1.50. 

Are there staff members who live in the residence halls?

Yes, there is a residential director staying in the residence hall as well as one residence assistant per 10 campers. 

Is there a curfew?

Yes, lights out at 10:30 PM. 

Does security walk through the residence hall?

Yes, our Campus Safety Team regularly patrols the grounds of the College as well as walking through the dorms day and night. We are fully staffed 24 hours a day. Campus Safety provides a comprehensive program of safety, security, crime prevention, fire safety, medical emergency assistance, property management, parking and related services to help ensure the College maintains a safe and secure environment. 

How many staff members accompany the students on field trips?

There will be 2 staff members for every 10 students. 

What meals are included?

For overnight campers, breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. Commuters will be given lunch. 

What type of food will be available?

Our dining hall features a food court style dining experience will a grill, entree station, pizza, deli, pasta station, and dessert. 

Are activities optional?

No, activities are required. 

Will I need to buy books?

Yes, there are books assigned to each camp. You will receive more information as we get closer to the start dates. 

Will there be homework?

Yes, there will be homework for each camp. 

What should I bring?

Once you register, more information will be sent to you about what to pack, where to check in and other important details. 

Will I get a daily schedule?

Yes, as we get closer to the start of camp, you will be given an itinerary as well as pick up times for commuters. 

Do I have to earn credit for the program?

No, you can choose to be a camper without earning college credit. You will not be required to complete any of the coursework or homework. You can just attend the camp. 

How will the credits transfer?

If you attend Dean, your grade will count towards your overall GPA. The course itself will be applied towards your major or count as a free elective. If you attend another college, you would follow their transfer procedure and it is up to their discretion how they apply your credit.
