      Trish Crocker

      Trish came to Dean in 1997 and is currently a 3- day and 5- day teacher at the Children’s Center.  In the past she has taught in the 2- day and 5- day programs.

      Trish has a Bachelor of Arts degree from University College, Cork, Ireland where she taught in a high school.  She completed all her Early Education courses at Dean and then became an intern at the Children’s Center before being hired as a teacher.Elaine

      Working at Dean College Children’s Center gives Trish the opportunity to support young children in their development and enable the Dean students to reach their potential in the Early Childhood program.  She says, “It is very rewarding to see our Dean students gain confidence, develop their own curriculum ideas and strategies before leaving Dean to gain a teaching position or to continue in a 4 year program.” 

      Trish and her husband live in Norfolk where Trish enjoys her family. She belongs to a book club and is a member of the Charles River Chorale.

      Christine Knight

      Christine Knight has been the teacher of the 2 day program at Dean College Children's Center since 2007.  She graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Art.  She has taught in private and corporate educational settings with children ranging in age from birth to kindergarten.

      Christine serves on the Board of Directors and volunteers as the Medical Director for the Lowe Syndrome Association. She assisted with the 2008 Comprehensive Survey and coauthored the 4th edition of the Living with Lowe Syndrome book for families and professionals. ChristineShe is married to a research scientist and has one child. She enjoys kayaking, gardening, designing jewelry and traveling, especially on a cruise ship to any tropical destination.

      Joanne Hogan

      Director of Children's Center
      Joanne is new to the Dean College family, but has been in the field of early childhood education since 1989. She has worked at three other campus-based preschool programs, all of which were NAEYC accredited, in the roles of preschool teacher, lead teacher, and director.

      She holds a bachelor’s degree from Assumption College and a Master of Education in Early Childhood from Bridgewater State College.  She is certified as a teacher in Massachusetts for preschool through grade 2 and has served as a cooperating practitioner for numerous college students who hope to be future early childhood educators.
      When Joanne’s daughters were young children, she ran a family child care business of her own.  She is currently on the Boston Association for the Education of Young Children Steering Committee and is participating in the planning of an early childhood conference to take place in March of 2017. Joanne is passionate about the field of early childhood education and believes in the importance of providing high quality developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children.

      Paula Waite

      Paula is a Lead Teacher and Assistant Director at the Children’s Center.  She has been teaching at Dean for the past 18 years.  Before coming to Dean, she was a teacher and Education Coordinator at Woonsocket Head Start Child Development Association. She also provided at home childcare while raising her three sons.  Paula received an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Dean College and her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Framingham State University.  She is certified by the Massachusetts Department of Education.  

      Paula says the Children’s Center feels like home.  Not only was she a student teacher at the Children’s Center, she also volunteered at the center when her now grown boys attended.  “ I truly believe in the center’s philosophy, recognizing the importance of play and problem solving. I also value regular active and outdoor time for children.” In addition to teaching preschoolers, Paula mentors and supervises Early Childhood Student Teachers. Paula

      In her free time, Paula enjoys walking, reading, camping and spending time with her family and friends.  She resides in Franklin with her husband.

      Elaine Davenport

      Elaine Davenport is a 3-day morning Teacher at Dean College Children's Center. She is a 27 year resident of Franklin, MA and grew up nearby in Norwood. Elaine earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (formerly North Adams State College).

      She has worked in many different Preschool/Child Care settings from a corporate based center in the State Street Bank Complex in Quincy to a small preschool here in Franklin, where her three children attended and she went on to teach there once her youngest child entered Kindergarten.TrishShe is beginning her 5th year at Dean College Children's Center. She enjoys working here and getting to know the families in Franklin and the surrounding area. Also, being from the area she enjoys getting to see the families out in the community as well. Elaine works very hard to create a warm, caring and nurturing environment for children to grow and learn.

      In her free time, Elaine enjoys getting together with family and friends. She likes to spend time on Cape Cod, Skiing in the winter and traveling whenever she can.
