#iamdean features weekly Q&A with current students, alumni, faculty and staff.

Alana Hagberg ’16 is a Criminal Justice major from Auburn, MA. Read on to learn more about Alana!

Q: Why did you choose to attend Dean College?

A: I chose Dean because of the close-knit community and small classroom sizes. I had also heard great things about professor Couture and how awesome the criminal justice program is!

Q: How do you spend your free time while at Dean? Do you participate in any particular events, activities, athletics, clubs or organizations? Are you employed on campus?

A: I am a member of the student conduct panel, a student ambassador and a new student orientation leader! Last year I also worked as a Community Advisor. When I am not busy with those commitments, I spend a lot of my free time exercising in the gym, attending campus programs, and hanging out in Boomers with friends.

Q: What do you like best about Dean?

A: What I like best about Dean is how friendly the environment is. The campus is a culture of caring administrators, professors and staff. This allows the students to feel very at home and comfortable.

Q: What are your plans after Dean?

A: I would love to be a police officer or work in corrections.

Q: Please provide us with additional information to help us promote the Dean Difference, such as your favorite professor, advice for incoming students or anything you would want future generations to know about your time at Dean:

A: My biggest advice for anyone coming to Dean is to get involved! Being involved has helped me build community, become a leader, meet so many new friends and contribute to the Dean Difference!
