    Spring Registration Tips 2017

It’s hard to believe that on Tuesday, October 31st, 2017 registration for the 2018 spring semester begins. Picking out classes and creating a class schedule can be a stressful and overwhelming process for some. Here are a few tips to make the planning process easier!

Review your class options. If you’ve already decided on your major, choose courses that fulfill the general requirements in that area. If you’re undecided, explore courses that interest you and make sure to utilize our MAP program to help in the decision-making process.

To review class listings, visit the Dean College Academic Catalog. The academic catalog lists out all of the classes required by majors and the course sequence by semester. Or visit your respective major webpage on the Dean College website.

Talk to your advisor. Our Dean College advisors are dedicated full-time and provide individual attention to each student. Schedule a meeting with your advisor before registration and come prepared with any questions. Advisors can help with selecting a major, finding classes for you, and mapping out your class schedule each semester.

Know how to register. Make sure that you know the instructions of how to register ahead of time. If you’re unsure of how to do this, click here!

Create a schedule that works for you. If possible, don’t schedule an 8:00 am class if you know you’ll have trouble waking up for it. Students should also take into consideration their other activities. Don’t double book yourself or make it difficult to participate in jobs, internships, athletics or other school activities that you are already committed to.

    Good luck and happy registration!
