International Students

  • Attracting Students Worldwide

    Willkomen, 欢迎, Bienvenidos, ようこそ,Welcome!

Dean has international students from more than 26 countries representing 10% of the student body. Our faculty and staff create a supportive learning environment that makes us an ideal place for your American college experience.

    Why Dean?

International students - as well as American students - choose Dean for many of the same reasons, such as our Greater Boston location, caring faculty and outstanding record for transferring students to top U.S. universities. Download a quick overview of Dean College.

Founded in 1865, Dean is fully accredited and has the history, reputation and status students expect from a 150-year old college. Several of our buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Our 18:1 student-faculty ratio ensures that students can get help when they need it, and no class at Dean is larger than 40 students.

Just 45-minutes outside Boston, our students feel safe without being isolated from the activities of a big city. The Commuter Rail - only three blocks from campus - provides frequent train service to the city center.

    ESL Flexibility

For students needing English language support, our International Student FOCUS Program accepts more modest TOEFL and IELTS scores and embeds ESL instruction into credit-bearing courses reducing the need for remedial work and additional classes.

Dean awards both four-year bachelor's and two-year associate degrees, providing an educational option that is rare among U.S. colleges. Our associate degree graduates transfer to many of the top U.S. universities.

Dean is a member of the Council of International Schools and the International Association of College Admission Counseling.  We are also proud partners of School Apply.
