Dean College Presents: Legally Blonde, November 15-19, 2017

      11/07/2017

THIS SHOW IS NOW SOLD OUT! WE LOOK FORWARD TO AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE FROM OUR STUDENTS!

Dean College Presents: Legally Blonde, November 15-19, 2017

The School of the Arts at Dean College will perform Legally Blonde, beginning Wednesday, November 15 through Sunday, November 19, 2017.

Based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name, Legally Blonde tells the story
of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend, Warner.
Right from the start, Elle encounters negative reactions from both the establishment and the university’s students. During this musical, however, she not only discovers that her knowledge of the law can help others, but she also realizes an equally important faith in herself.

Clive Barnes, in his New York Post review, wrote that he loved the "effervescent and radiant Laura Belle
Bundy” (the original Elle Woods), and that the "dances certainly have a slick snap, crackle, and pop."

The Dean College production of Legally Blonde will take place in the Main Stage in the Campus Center
at Dean College, 99 Main Street, Franklin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday and 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. General admission is $22, Seniors $12 and Children $7.

Dean College Presents Curtains, April 11-15, 2018

The School of the Arts at Dean College will perform Curtains, beginning Wednesday, April 11 through Sunday, April 15, 2018.

Set in 1950s Boston, Curtains is a musical mystery comedy based on the original book and concept by Peter Stone. This musical is a send-up of backstage murder mystery plots and follows the fallout when Jessica Cranshaw, the extremely untalented star of Robbin' Hood of the Old West, is murdered during her opening night curtain call. It is up to musical theatre fan, police detective Lt. Frank Cioffi, to solve the murder and save the show.

New York Times critic Ben Brantley called "Lt. Frank Cioffi the best damn musical theatre character since Mama Rose in Gypsy.”

Curtains – Book by Rupert Holmes, Music by John Kander, Lyrics by Fred Ebb, Original Book and Concept by Peter Stone.

The Dean College production of Curtains will take place in the Main Stage in the Campus Center at Dean College, 109 West Central Street, Franklin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday and 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. General admission is $22, Seniors $12 and Children $7.
