What is your major? Why did you decide to pursue your selected major at Dean College?

I am a dance major. Most colleges with dance majors require you to focus on one or two genres of dance, however Dean gave me the opportunity to continue to train in all the styles of dance, which helped me to become a more versatile dancer.

What has been the best part of senior year at Dean?

The best part of my senior year at Dean has been having the opportunity to perform with my fellow seniors before we all go on our separate career paths.

Is there a specific faculty/staff member that had a positive impact on your time here at Dean?

I can honestly say that all the dance faculty here at Dean have influenced me and helped me grow. I have enjoyed getting to know many of them on a personal level, and I feel like many of them are now a part of my extended family. Although difficult to hear at times, I appreciate their continued feedback and suggestions for improvement to help me grow as a performer.

What was your favorite event (sports, club/org, holiday, academic, etc.) that you participated in during your time at Dean?

It is very hard to choose just one activity that I enjoyed while here at Dean. My three years spent on the women's soccer team allowed me to be a part of the athletic department of Dean College and form new friendships outside of the dance world. I also enjoyed being a student ambassador and sharing my love of Dean with prospective students through Discover Dean Days and personal tours. I also enjoyed being a part of the move-in crew for new students each fall, as I got to meet and help students and their families who are coming to Dean for the first time. Finally, Spring Fling has always been an exciting time to wrap up the school year and have lots of fun with my friends before we head out for the summer.

What was your all-time favorite meal at the dining center during your time at Dean?

My all-time favorite meal is the open deli sandwich bar because Miss Lisa makes the best sandwiches!

Who was the first friend you met during your first year at Dean?

My first friend I met at Dean College was Liza. It all started in Todd Shanks' jazz class when a girl from Georgia and a girl from Upstate New York sat next to each other. We've since been roommates and close friends for our remaining time at Dean.

What advice would you give yourself as a freshman coming into Dean?

Relax, have confidence in yourself and take in as much as you can. The time goes by way too fast!

What does The Dean Difference mean to you?

For me, The Dean Difference means you matter. No matter where you come from or what your major is, you are an important part of the Dean family and there is always someone willing to help you when you need it!

What are your plans after graduation?

I am planning to move to NYC after graduation to continue to pursue my career in dance.
