Transfer to Dean College

  • Transfer to Dean, Pursue Your Dream

    Transfer Students

Transfer students are especially welcome at Dean. They make up nearly 11% of our student body and come to us from community colleges, other four-year colleges and both small and large universities. This means we see a variety of transfer students, including those with only one or two classes after high school, associate degree graduates, and students who may have started college but then taken time off.

Regardless of your background, our faculty and staff create a supportive learning environment that makes Dean an ideal place for transfer students to continue their college education.

    Why Dean?

Transfer students choose Dean for many of the following reasons:

Our 16:1 student-teacher ratio ensures that students can get help when they need it. No class at Dean is larger than 45 students and transfer students are assured of their choice of major.

    Transfer Credit Flexibility
Dean has a generous transfer credit policy making it easy to earn your college degree - bachelor’s or associate - without adding time and expense. Students can transfer up to 90 credits from other accredited institutions toward a bachelor’s degree and 30 credits towards an associate degree.

We also have transfer agreements with several colleges to ease the transfer process, including the MassTransfer Block for students from Massachusetts community colleges.

We guarantee on-campus housing - even for transfer students. Dean offers a variety of living options from traditional residence halls to converted Victorian houses to fully furnished apartments.

More than 95% of Dean’s B.A. and B.S. graduates complete their degree on time and are either employed or in graduate school within six months. Dean also invests time and resources in your success, with $19 million going toward scholarships and grants every year.

Dean offers exceptional academic support. Our staff of full-time advisors can arrange for peer or faculty tutoring, formal one-on-one academic coaching, assistance with learning differences and help through the writing and math centers.

Dean awards both baccalaureate and associate degrees, providing an educational option that is rare for transfer students. Choose from nearly three-dozen academic programs or work with an advisor to design your own Liberal Arts and Studies concentration.
