At Dean, we define transfer students as anyone who has attempted college-level coursework after high school.     Dean College awards both baccalaureate and associate degrees, providing an educational option that is rare for transfer students. Choose from nearly three-dozen academic programs or work with an advisor to design your own Liberal Arts and Studies concentration.

    Housing
    Approximately 90% of Dean students live on‑campus and transfer students are quickly integrated into the College community. We guarantee you campus housing every semester, and Dean College offers a variety of living options from traditional residence halls to converted Victorian houses to fully furnished apartments.

    Value
    95% of recent B.A./B.S. graduates completed their degree on time and report employment or graduate school enrollment within six months of graduation. Dean invests time and money in you and your success with $19 million going to scholarships and grants every year.

    Transfer Credit
    Dean has a generous transfer credit policy,* making it easy to earn your college degree—bachelor’s or associate—without adding time and expense. Students can transfer up to 90 credits from other accredited institutions toward a bachelor’s degree and 30 credit toward an associate degree.

    *C– grade or higher in college-level coursework.

    MassTransfer Block
    If you have completed the MassTransfer Block at a Massachusetts Community College, these credits will meet the core curriculum requirement at Dean College.

    Applying to Dean

    To apply, submit the following to the Admissions Office:

    • An application for admission
    • Your official high school transcript
    • Official transcripts from all colleges you have attended
    • A letter of recommendation from an instructor at the college level
    • A personal statement or essay
    • Scores from the SAT or ACT (not required, but strongly encouraged, especially if you have earned fewer than 6 college credits)
    • Transfer student status report completed by the Dean of Students at each college or university you have attended
