Dean's New Student Orientation (NSO) program is designed to prepare you for a successful introduction to college.

New Student Orientation

Dean's New Student Orientation (NSO) program is designed to prepare you for a successful introduction to college.  NSO is a program that will allow students and their families to sample many aspects of Dean College. Along with fun activities, NSO (and ISO for international students) offers helpful workshops and informative presentations to make the transition to college as easy as possible.

The program will familiarize you and your family with the academic support, technology services, and residence life programs available on campus. You'll also have a chance to meet our faculty and staff, connect with other Dean students, and make lots of new friends!

New Student Orientation – For Students Entering in the Fall of 2021

Dean College is fully committed to providing a program that will offer helpful and informative sessions that will make the transition to college as easy as possible.  With that in mind, we will be offering our New Student Orientation (NSO) program in virtual and in-person formats this summer.  All state/local/federal safety guidelines will be followed for our in-person program.  Students and their families will choose one of the dates below to attend NSO.

  • NSO I: Virtual – June 21-22
  • NSO II: Virtual – June 23-24
  • NSO III: In-Person – June 25
  • NSO IV: In-Person – July 8
  • NSO V: In-Person – July 9

The virtual program will run on the first day from approximately 1:00 pm-3:30 pm with one-on-one meetings with success and career advisors on the second day.

The in-person program will run from approximately be 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Each student is only allowed to bring one (1) adult family member to this program. Currently, all students and their one (1) family member, whether they are from Massachusetts or out of state, must produce a negative COVID-19 PCR test result administered no more than 72 hours prior to arriving on campus or be fully vaccinated. If the student and/or their family member are fully vaccinated (i.e. you have received two doses of either the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines OR a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, 14 days or more ago) and you do not have COVID symptoms, you must produce proof of your full vaccination.

Please take the time to review additional information about our NSO program. Registration for both the virtual and in-person programs will be available on this page by the end of April. Please note that the in-person dates are on a first-come, first-served basis.

As a reminder, all students must have paid their enrollment deposit to attend either program.
