As the end of the semester draws near, it’s time to celebrate the seasons and have a little fun in between finishing projects and prepping for finals. Dean College has several annual traditions that round out the fall semester, including Thanksgiving dinner, Winter Days, the Annual Tree Lighting and Late Night Breakfast. Read on to learn more about each of these beloved traditions!

Thanksgiving Dinner: This year, we’re feeling extra thankful to be able to gather together on campus for our annual Thanksgiving dinner. One week before Thanksgiving, the Dean dining services team prepares a Thanksgiving dinner, complete with holiday favorites including turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie! Faculty and staff volunteer for shifts to serve the students dinner during the festivities. This year’s Thanksgiving Dinner is on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Annual Tree Lighting: Every year Dean welcomes the Franklin community to witness the annual tree lighting on Awpie Way. This event includes holiday entertainment and performances by Dean students. This year’s lighting will take place on Thursday, December 2, 2021.

Winter Days: Student Activities kicks off Winter Days by transforming the Campus Center into a winter wonderland. This year’s Winter Days will be held on Thursday, December 9 and Friday, December 10, 2021. Stop by the Campus Center to take part in fun winter-themed activities to celebrate the last days of classes.

Late Night Breakfast: Take a break from studying and fuel up for finals with our annual Late Night Breakfast. The dining team, faculty and staff serve breakfast to our hungry students, and students take a well-deserved break from their books! Late Night Breakfast will be Monday, December 13, 2021.
