Artist Manager
Have you ever wondered who schedules the live shows, manages to get all of the music equipment from point A to point B on time, and herds the musicians from one gig to the next? That would be an artist manager. They’re in charge of all aspects of a touring band’s productions, from the companies making their merchandise to helping them make the big decisions regarding their careers.
Event Manager
If you’ve sat through a play or musical and wondered what’s involved in putting together the entire production, then a career as an event manager might be the best option for you. Event managers often work for a theater or playhouse and put together each season’s theatrical options. They’re in charge of choosing the plays or musicals, selecting directors, and juggling all the pieces that go into a successful production.
Tour Managers
A tour manager works closely with artist managers in order to plan out every aspect of a touring production. They collaborate with the companies hired to move the sets, instruments, and other equipment, as well as with the local people hired to set everything up in a new venue. Whether they’re working with a touring band or a touring company, like those for Broadway musicals that hit the road, there’s a lot of travel and plenty of fun involved.
Marketing Manager
