Summer Course Spotlight: Sports Writing for Multimedia
Have you dreamed about a career as a sports journalist? This summer Dean College is once again offering the popular course SMGT 190-ONLN Sports Writing for Multimedia. This 3-credit online course will get you started in journalism by launching your very own sports blog! You will learn how to create original content for your blog, based on your own interests, and discover how to attract followers.
To start things off, you will explore the various platforms for creating blog content. From there, you will develop the theme and subject matter for your own blog. You can pick a sport or theme that you are passionate about and research the competition to get a better idea of the virtual landscape. Along with creating your original content, you will learn how to promote your blog via social media. At the end of the course you will have a resume-worthy active blog that showcases your sports writing!
The course runs from 07/06/2020 through 08/13/2020 and is open to current Dean students as well as incoming students, transfers and non-matriculated students interested in sports blogging and writing.
